Abstract

Collection of information about the state of the network is very important for the provision of QoS to applications and developing new network services, both in active networks and in traditional passive networks. However, the existing methods for the collection and prediction of network state information cannot meet the needs of complex and intelligent applications in active networks. We present a new method for the collection of network state information by describing an example of collecting network resource information in active networks and evaluating it by measurements.
