Abstract

This issue of the Journal and the conference on which it is based have their origins in three ideas which have had a formative influence on the work of the National Monuments Record of Scotland in recent years. This paper describes those ideas and provides a tabular chronology of the collecting, by public institutions, of Scottish architects' papers.
