Abstract

Coarctation of the aorta is a common cardiovascular malformation accounting for 5% to 8% of patients with congenital heart disease [1]. One out of every few thousand babies are born with a constricted aorta at a point beyond the arterial branches to the head and arms, but proximal to the kidney.
