Abstract

The dysregulation of emotional states in children and young people is a defining feature of traumatic stress. This can occur when the child or young person is unable to regulate their emotional state for various reasons that occur when the brain’s processing mechanisms are disturbed by stressors. The proposed method of therapeutic management for such children and young people is based on a model of treatment called trauma systems therapy (TST)
