Abstract

Abstract In a second collaborative study, the Milkotester was compared with the Babcock and Mojonnier methods. The standard deviations for these methods were 0.020, 0.038, and 0.053%, respectively. These deviations are based on the results of 4 laboratories that tested 6 samples in triplicate by each method. There were appreciable interlaboratory differences, whereas the intralaboratory differences were relatively small. The standard deviations of differences between the Milko-tester and Babcock, the IMilko-tester and Mojonnier, and the Babcock and Mojonnier were 0.08, 0.09, and 0.11%, respectively. The standard deviations of the results from 5 Mark II and 5 automatic Milko-testers were 0.022 and 0.013%, respectively.
