Abstract

Abstract The quantitative method published in 1962 for Clostridium perfringens in foods was studied collaboratively on five specimens of beef gravy by six laboratories. Results showed small within-laboratory variations between paired specimens and interlaboratory variations that were judged to be no greater than those expected in an anaerobic plate count procedure. The method is recommended for adoption as official, first action.
