Abstract

ABSTRACT Collaborative self-help as an approach to community development predominated the field for a number of years. This paper revisits the consensus strategy, discusses the contrasts with more recent approaches, delineates the conditions under which it is still an appropriate model for community betterment, and outlines considerations for implementing community development.
