Abstract

Due to the rapid development of the renewable energy, the installed capacity of wind and solar power increases quickly. However, the high penetration of the renewable energy also causes several problems, for example, the curtailment of wind power. Power to hydrogen (P2H) is a rapidly developing technology that uses electrical power to produce hydrogen. It is a possible solution to mitigate the curtailment issue by converting extra wind power to the hydrogen, playing the role of filling the load valley. This paper designs an integrated energy system optimization model considering P2H technology. Case studies on an integrated energy system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.
