Abstract
The ACRL Rare Books and Manuscripts Section explored collaborative relationships at its 2010 preconference meeting in Philadelphia, with a specific aim of determining circumstances in which working together accomplishes more than working alone, and to suggest creative but practical solutions that can be applied to the challenges that archivists and special collections librarians are confronting. One such example is the Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collections Libraries’ (PACSCL) “Hidden Collections” Processing Project, a 27-month initiative that began in July 2009.
