Abstract

The relative survival of coliphages isolated from seawater under controlled conditions in different media, in the laboratory and in the marine environment, was investigated. The results show that the survival under controlled conditions in different media, and also in the sea, is affected by biological and chemical factors. In the sea there are several other important factors, and combinations of these, which are difficult to reproduce in the laboratory.
