Abstract

Cold tests which have been performed on quasi-optical gyrotron resonators at frequencies near 94 and 120 GHz to measure cavity Q are discussed. The separation between the resonator mirrors was varied between 0.15 and 0.35 m. Quality factors ranging from 10000 to 100000 are shown. Good agreement is shown between the measured data and values calculated from scalar diffraction theory. The experimental effect of misaligning the mirrors is examined.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
