Abstract
We show how the modified electromagnetic vacuum of a resonant optical cavity can be used to manipulate the collisional dynamics between cold atoms by a modification of spontaneous emission times. Multiparticle entanglement and a higher spectral density of modes enhance spontaneous emission and alter the dynamics of cold collisions. A specific situation is considered and we show this effect can be observed as a large suppression in trap-loss rates.
