Abstract

An updated version of the Monte Carlo program COJETS is presented. The program simulates proton-proton, antiproton-proton interactions and electron-positron annihilation at high energy. It covers: (i) purely hadronic production of jets from proton-proton and antiproton-proton interactions, including particles with charm, bottom and top; (ii) electro-weak Drell-Yan production of the W ± and Z 0 vector bosons, plus jets; (iii) electron-positron annihilation into jets of hadrons. The simulation is based, at the parton level, on perturbative QCD and the Weinberg-Salam model. Multiple QCD radiation off initial and final partons is included. Partons from the parton showers are independently fragmented into jets of hadrons according to the Field-Feynman model, modified in the generation of soft particles. Multiple QED radiation effects off charged leptons in Drell-Yan processes and top particle decays are taken into account. QED radiation off beam particles in electron-positron annihilation is treated according to the BKJ program.
