Abstract

Coherent random fiber laser is obtained by end pumping a hollow optical fiber (HOF) filled with a dispersive solution of polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) nanoparticles and laser dye pyrromethene 597 (PM597) in carbon disulfide (CS 2 ). However, coherent random laser can not been observed for the same solution in the quartz cuvette. We suggest that the coherent feedback is caused by the cooperative effect of light scattering and waveguide effect. We will deep research the effect in the near future.
