Abstract

In this paper, the effects of propagation in the coherent control of transient four-wave mixing interactions in two-level media are theoretically investigated. Phenomena arising from the coherent control of ultrafast optical interactions can be of extreme importance in fields as diverse as optoelectronics and materials research, in biological applications such as microscopy or spectroscopy, and in high field physics as in high harmonic generation and in photoionization or dissociation.
