Abstract

A coherent amplification on a monomode fibre half-coupler of a 632.8 nm laser light with a flowing dye system pumped with a 488 nm argon laser is reported. Single pass gains of 2 dB have been obtained for pump powers as low as 40 mW during a pump time of 15 μs. Despite the circulating dye, that gain turns out to be progressively cancelled by the absorption of the triplets states if the pump power becomes too high.
