Abstract
Layer thickness dependent stress behaviors observed during growth of Pd/Pt multilayer films, using in situ substrate curvature measurement, are due to the competing influences of coherency stress and surface stress. Our understanding of stress evolution in Pd/Pt multilayers is extended to Cu/Pd and Cu/Pt multilayers.
