Abstract

We present results for the optical conductivity calculated within the Eliashberg framework for arbitrary impurity content. In the clean limit the coherence peak is suppressed. In strong coupling the coherence peak is also suppressed. The latter also applies to the NMR relaxation rate. These results place important constraints on microscopic properties of the high T c materials.
