Abstract
Capacity of a cognitive radio (CR) link is related to two external factors: (1) primary usage pattern; (2) interference of the CR nodes. In this paper, we proposed a novel routing metric named cognitive routing metric with improving capacity (CRM-IC) to capture the end-to-end throughput in heterogeneous network. Because of the heterogeneity of nodes, the calculation methods are different with homogeneous network, and we analyzed the reasons. Finally, the result of simulation shows that the proposed cognitive routing metric has better performance than the conventional shortest path routing metric.
