Background: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is typically accompanied by cognitive impairment. Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) treatment for MDD involves the stimulation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain known to play an important role in working memory and cognitive control.
