Abstract
The coexistence of psoriasis and lupus erythematosus complicates therapy, because treatment modalities for one disease may cause worsening of the other. Recent findings suggest that some retinoids are effective in the treatment of psoriasis, as well as for manifestations of lupus erythematosus. Two patients are reported suffering from psoriasis and lupus erythematosus. In both patients psoriasis was exacerbated during hydroxychloroquine treatment. Methotrexate worsened the leukopenia in two patients. Both diseases were subsequently well controlled with etretinate.
