Abstract

Material Requirement Planning (MRP) was the computerization of the conventional manufacturing procedure, or push system. Justin-Time (JIT) manufacturing is the pull system of manufacturing. Constant work in process is a part of MRP, and elimination of work in process is the aim of JIT. This study explores the coexistence of MRP and JIT when a manufacturing organization tries to implement JIT, with MRP becoming the checkpoint.
