Abstract
Calculations of nucleation fields and critical radii of three possible magnetization reversal modes for an infinite ferromagnetic hollow cylinder with exchange and uniaxial anisotropy are made using Brown's equation. It shows that the curling mode is the favored mode for large radius and the nucleation fields for curling and buckling modes decrease for increasing outer radius and the ratio of inner to outer radius. The transition between these modes is very sensitive to the ratio of inner to outer radius.
