Abstract

One of 10 larvae of Anophetes (Cellia) farauti collected from a freshwater taro swamp near New Manda. Gizo I. Solomon Is. contained resistant sporangia of Coetomomyces couchii . n. sp. The pigmented sporangia of this species are distinguished by surface ornamentation in the form of a reticulate pattern of uniformly sized ridges which enclose pitted areas.
