Abstract

The process of flat creep-feed grinding of a wheel by the periphery of a wheel is studied. A method of determining the coefficient of friction for creep-feed grinding procedures is developed. The coefficient of friction is experimentally found depending on the grade and temperature of the blank and the grade of the cutting lubricant, as well as the granularity, hardness, and number of the structure of the grinding wheel. The statistical processing of the experimental data has yielded econometric models for calculating the coefficient of friction. The values of the coefficient of friction are used in the mathematical modeling of cutting forces under creep-feed grinding.
