Abstract
An analysis and simulation results are presented of a DS spread spectrum code acquisition in a multipath channel which causes interpath interference (IPI). Noncoherent matched filter (MF) acquisition is used. Results can be applied also for acquisition methods based on correlation measurements using a stepped serial search. The results indicate that the influence of IPI is significant when the spreading codes are short but the effect decreases rapidly as the code length increases.
