Abstract
The Cochrane Library on the world wide web has a summary of peer-reviewed literature and controlled trials that addresses sports, exercise, and orthopaedic physical therapy treatments in a searchable database that outlines the Cochrane perspective on which interventions are supported by research and which are not. One component of the Cochrane Library, the Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness (DARE), is sponsored by the National Health Service (NHS) Centre for Reviews and Dissemination and, despite including commentary and opinion, does not permit rebuttal that is not factual in nature. In the opinion of Editor-in-Chief Richard Di Fabio, this presents a conflict of interest for the NHS. J Orthop Sports Phys Ther 2000;30(9):510–511. doi:10.2519/jospt.2000.30.9.510
