Abstract

Abstract This chapter focuses on Cochliobolus sativus, the causal agent of common root rot in cereals, primarily spring and winter wheat (Triticum aestivum), barley (Hordeum vulgare), and tall or meadow fescue grass (Festuca elatior) in Canada. It provides an overview of the bacteria (Burkholderia cepacia and Pseudomonas fluorescens) and fungi (Glomus intraradices and Glomus mosseae) that have been tested for its management, and the evaluation of effectiveness of these biological control agents. Future research prospects are recommended.
