Abstract

Abstract A description is provided for Coccomyces vilis . Information is included on the disease caused by the organism, its transmission, geographical distribution, and hosts. HOST: Mangifera indica . DISEASE: Causes a leaf spot of mango, frequency in association with Lophodermium mangiferae (see sheet no. 798). The fungus is probably not a serious pathogen. GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: Apparently confned to India. TRANSMISSION: Unknown. Similar fungi directly infect host leaves by the air-dispersed ascospores.
