Abstract

The paper is aimed at the elucidation of the role played by intra- and intermolecular interactions in magnetic properties of valence tautomeric compounds containing cobalt complexes with two o-quinone derived ligands. The conditions that favour the spin conversion are discussed. The peculiarities of the valence tautomeric transformation in a single complex and in a crystal are revealed. The qualitative explanation of the experimental data is given.
