Abstract

Abstract Reactions of [Co(H2O)(NH3)5](ClO4)3 with H2N(CH2)nNH2 (N–N) in dimethyl sulfoxide were examined by changing the number of methylene groups in N–N (n=2–5, 7, 8, 10, 12, and 14). Complexes of the Co(NH3)4(N–N)3+ type were found to be formed for n=2–4, 12, and 14, but, not for n=5, 7, 8, and 10. In addition to these products, a number of new cobalt(III) complexes were isolated.
