Abstract

The article presents an overview of cavitation in tissue and the development of acoustically contrast media along with novel results on dynamic description of coated microbubbles in ultrasonic fields in the context of the nonlinear theory of elasticity. The general part also includes new results concerning analysis of diffusion-driven temporal evolution and the life time of bubbles depending on parameters of main structural units (shell, gas filling). Comprehensive data regarding coated microbubbles, produced by commercial manufacturers and used in medical acoustics, is presented.
