Abstract

Over the past decade staff and students of the Department of Archaeology, La Trobe University, have undertaken a number of archaeological projects in Western Port and adjacent sections of the south Gippsland coast. Some of these have been set up as teaching exercises, some for cultural resource management and others primarily for basic research. In this paper we report on one part of this programme, within the broader context of Victorian coastal archaeology. Â
