Abstract
Abstract While wettability determines the flotation properties of coal, coal moisture content determines the maximum loading of coal water fuels. Both the wettability and moisture content result from the interaction between water molecules and the coal surface; they are also affected by coal porosity. In this paper, an overview of research on the surface properties of coal is given and the patchwork assembly model of a coal surface is discussed.
