Abstract

In this work, we present the analysis of adsorption properties of CO2 on Ag nanoparticle/carbon nanotube nanocomposites compared to those of N2 and O2. We observe for all gases an identical kinetic behavior, indicating that the nonwetting properties of CO2 on a carbon surface do not influence the gas adsorption. We perform the analysis in conditions of low pressure and temperature to better observe the physical properties of the system. We observe a first kinetic order for all gases, indicating the absence of gas–gas interactions on the composite surface. The desorption curves for all gases present several desorption temperatures, indicating the presence of different kinds of adsorption sites.
