Abstract

Use of second-generation antipsychotics long-acting injectables (SGA LAI) have the benefit of enhanced patient adherence compared to oral treatment leading to better outcomes such as reduced relapses. However, direct comparisons among four common SGA LAI (aripiprazole, olanzapine, paliperidone, and risperidone) on all-cause hospitalizations or mortality is not well known. Our objective was to compare time to all-cause hospitalization or death among the LAIs aripiprazole, olanzapine, paliperidone, and risperidone.
