Abstract

Although NASH is closely linked with obesity, there is a considerable number of patients with Body Mass Index (BMI) less than 25, called lean NASH. Studies have found that, compared to healthy controls, individuals with lean Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) have higher hazard ratios related to mortality and cardiovascular incidents. This study describes a lean NASH cohort compared to Obese (BMI≥30) NASH patients.
