Abstract
The ecological crisis, usually associated with an excess of cars, factories, detergents, pesticides and the carbon dioxide, municipal sewage, garbage, noise, destruction of the natural environment generated by them, seems too superficial. Similar to any crisis (in human being, medicine, psyche), the ecological crisis is more complex in causes and effects. According to Pope Francis, the ecological crisis should be studied and solved more because of the moral degradation of human beings, their selfishness, greed, consumption and injustice. The article analyses the ecological crisis in the light of some biblical data, the teaching of the Church (John Paul II, Francis), anthropology and historical processes (the Enlightenment departure from God) to come to the conclusion that in overcoming the effects of the ecological and human crisis, one must return to the truth about the creation and Creator. „The awareness has been lost that there is no Earth and no respect for the natural structures of creatures in their horizontal branches without Heaven.”
