Abstract

Abnormal function of peritoneal immune cells may cause to the onset and progress of pelvic endometriosis. We have previously reported that the expression of natural cytotoxicity receptor (NCR) including NKp46 on peritoneal fluid NK (pfNK) cells is decreased in women with pelvic endometriosis. NK cell expresses not only NKp46, but also various kinds of activating or inhibitory receptors on its surface. The aim of this study is to investigate participation of NK cells in women with endometriosis by analyzing the co-expression of activating or inhibitory receptors on NK cells and to investigate the immunological relationship between endometriosis and peritoneal fluid immune cells abnormalities.
