CMS sets parameters for services to meet social needs in Medicaid

Abstract

The federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) this month offered states additional guidance on incorporating services to address unmet health‐related social needs into their Medicaid managed care programs. The Jan. 4 document for state Medicaid directors presents guidelines for the use of services provided to enrollees in lieu of a service being covered in a Medicaid state plan.
