Abstract
Background: Surgical ventricular reconstruction (SVR) is a treatment option for patients with apical a- or dyskinesia. The STICH trial (Jones et al. NEJM 2009) demonstrated its safety but no added benefit to bypass surgery. However, the trial's inclusion criteria for SVR were not specific and did not contain shape or viability parameters.
