Abstract

Multipliers and dividers perform two basic operations in analog applications. Also multipliers are used in many areas such as fuzzy logic controllers, modulators, frequency doublers, automatic gain control. This paper presents a Four-quadrant current mode analog multiplier, squarer circuit and their results which are plotted by T-SPICE. The proposed multiplier consist of four squarer circuits i.e. nothing but a current mirror circuit which is operating at a supply voltage of 2V. In proposed design, all squarer cells are operating in saturation region. The simulation of squarer circuit and multiplier circuit are validated on 0.18um technology, where −3dB bandwidth achieved is about 493MHz. The power consumption of multiplier from 2V supply is 146.48uW. Various important parameters like high input range, low supply voltage and low power are used for performance optimization of analog multiplier.
