Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the actual problems of grammer. Not only in Azerbaijani and Russian, but also, in linguistics in general, asymmetry at the grammatical level has a more complex character. It is manifested both in the system as a whole and in the structure of grammatical units and their functionality. The article talks about the transition of words from one part of speech to another part of speech, which is one of the forms of existence of grammatical asymmetry. In the transition process, no changes are made in the layer and cover of the word, the forms overlap. Basically, the functional character of the relations between these forms is revealed, as well as different paradigms are clarified. In substantivization, the syntactic function appears in the background. Any morphological category that is substantiated acts in the role of subject and object, and this manifests itself as a regularity.
