Abstract

1. Among the varies organs of pond loach, eyeball seems to contain the greatest concentration of ascorbic acid, liver goes second and muscle least.2. The concentration of ascorbic acid in the eyeball is related to season. In spring, the concentration is less than in summer.3. In the case of being deficient in ascorbic acid, the concentration of the vitamin C is decreased more in eyeball than in liver and muscle.4. After supplying the pond loach with large quantity of ascorbic acid, the vitamin C will enter the eyeball more than other organs.5. Eyeball can not produce ascorbic acid.6. The concentration of vitamin C in the organs tested possibly has no relation to the body weight and body length of the pond loach.
