Abstract

Public utilities such as water, electricity and gas are essential services in our daily life. These services play a vital role in socio-economic development. Governments are ultimately responsible for ensuring access of these services under accountable regulatory frameworks. Increased population and demand for utilities requires new architecture for automated management and control of public utility services. Wireless sensor network based solutions is proposed for these solutions. It consists of large number of nodes at user premises. The data aggregation becomes critical as size of network grows. In this paper we propose novel topology, frame format and protocol for cluster based data aggregation for public utility control and management.
