Abstract

The article discusses efforts to prevent collisions between civilian drones and jet airliners. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) receives around 60 reports of potential drone sightings each month, and contacts drone operators to educate them about flight safety regulations. According to pilot Ben Berman, drone manufacturers should program drones to avoid flying in restricted airspace and high altitudes. The drone manufacturer DJI and drone detection technologies are discussed.
