Abstract

This paper proposes cloudlet-based intelligent agents for energy crowdsourcing from autonomous electric vehicles (AEVs). Existing energy crowdsourcing mechanisms focus on load shedding and cost savings, but lack incentive models for strategically behaving agents. In the proposed model, crowdsourcing agents residing on the edge network communicate with AEVs to stimulate them to participate in providing energy to the grid during peak time periods. The focus of this paper is on the development of incentive mechanisms that allow the agents to engage in an auctioning process according to their energy contribution. Through theoretical analysis and simulations, we evaluate the performance of the proposed model with respect to individual rationality, computational efficiency, and truthfulness.
