Abstract

With the growing use of cloud computing technology around the globe, many organizations provide their services to their users. These services involve the various aspects like data storage, information retrieval and processing, security, etc. Cloud computing provides the homogeneous environment where various resources are shared and used on the basis of demands. Cloud computing also provides the basis for IoT, as nodes in IoT have limited processing and storage capability. Integration of IoT with cloud computing provides the platform for predictive computing and provides prediction results in real time. Though use of cloud computing is increasing in all the fields, it has potential issues that need to be addressed for its effective implementation and integration with other technologies. Here, security issue is considered at the top and requires attention to make it popular among users. In this chapter, we have discussed main dimensions of security known as confidentiality, integrity and availability that should be kept in mind for providing user satisfaction and presented cloud deployment models for organizing security and privacy in clouds. We have also discussed the various issues related to security, privacy and trust management in clouds and issues related to cloud service models. We have also presented the various threats and attacks on cloud. A framework has been proposed to provide data integrity in multi-cloud system. Depending upon the type of data, this framework provides three different levels to maintain data integrity like platinum, gold and silver. Proposed algorithm uses RSA, AES and Bcrypt security algorithms at three different levels. Obtained results show that the proposed framework provides better security and performance for handling data integrity issue in cloud computing.
