Abstract
While most of the exercises in this book can be completed with the user interfaces available in Google Cloud Platform, they can also be completed via the command line or with the Google Cloud API. Google also offers SDKs in multiple languages for programmatic access. Google Cloud Shell is a fully functional Linux virtual machine running on Google Compute Engine, which you can use to interact with BigQuery and other Google Cloud Platform services. This appendix covers installation and basic BigQuery operations using the Cloud Shell and SDK.
