Abstract
T HE purpose of this study is to provide information on the climatology of the Soviet Union never before published in English.' It analyzes cloud-cover characteristics of the U.S.S.R. and discusses the seasonal and regional distribution in detail. It does not consider specific locations per se but, rather, compares and analyzes the data in order to develop a generalized picture. If this has been achieved, then the information presented may serve to answer for an interim period some of the more general questions concerning the cloud cover of the Soviet Union.
